Author Guidelines
Authors submit proofread and formatted articles in Russian, English, French or German. Articles are not translated and are published in the original language with the title, abstract, keywords, ands references in English (provided by the authors).
Only works that have not been previously published and are not pending in other publications are accepted for consideration.
Submission deadline:
May 1 for the Vol. 1 of the current year;
September 1 for the Vol. 2 of the current year.
The editorial board reserves the right to make editorial changes and reject articles in case of a negative review.
The article is sent to the editor in a WinWord file, the format of the entire text:
- Font: Times New Roman
- Size: 12
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Margins on all sides: 2 cm
- Page numbering: bottom center
The volume of the article is 40 thousand characters, including illustrations (1 illustration with a format of 190 × 270 mm is equal to 6.7 thousand characters).
The structure of article (sequentially):
- Index of Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) (http://www.udcsummary.info/php/index.php) : left alignment
- Title of the article : in capital letters, bold, center alignment.
- Last name and initials of author(s) : bold, center alignment.
- Work places of all the authors, city and country : size 10 for Times New Roman, single line spacing, italics, center alignment.
- Resume (150–200 words), including a description of the research results, research methods, main conclusions : size 10 for Times New Roman, single line spacing.
- List of keywords (up to 5 words and / or phrases) : size 10 for Times New Roman, single line spacing.
- Funding source (optional).
- Title of the article in Russian : in lower case, bold, center alignment..
- Initials and surnames of authors in Cyrillic : bold, center alignment.
- Resume in Russian (150-200 words), completely duplicating the English resume, or expanded : size 10 for Times New Roman, single line spacing.
- List of keywords in Russian : size 10 for Times New Roman, single line spacing.
- Funding source (optional) in Russian.
- The text of the article should be presented in the logical sequence of presentation. The structure of the text implies sections, for example: introduction, main part (methods, materials, results, discussion of results) and conclusion. The introduction should contain an indication of the research question, purpose, scientific significance and relevance of the research. The section "Methods" includes a special methodological set, if any, as well as an indication of the equipment on which the study was performed (microscope, camera, centrifuge, UAV, etc.). The "Materials" section is intended to describe the data used for research (archaeological collections, historical sources, etc.), if necessary, their description. The "Results" section includes a presentation of the results of the analysis of materials, their further interpretation is offered in the "Discussion of the results" section. In the conclusion, the main conclusions and prospects for further research should be stated.
- "Acknowledgments" section (optional) to mention the colleagues who contributed to the writing of the work, but are not co-authors
- Bibliographic references.
- Information about the authors: place of work, academic degree and position of all authors, telephone and fax numbers, ORCID number (if any).
- Legends for figures and tables, both in Russian and English.
- List of abbreviations used in the article and bibliographic references..
Additional conditions:
- The given units of measurement must comply with the International System of Units SI. The Latin names of animals and plants should also be given.
- If additional fonts are used in the article, you must attach them to the article in a separate file.
- Translations of article titles, annotations, keywords, etc. performed by the authors. Translations made through online translators are not accepted.
Requirements for preparing a bibliography:
References are placed in text in square brackets. The surname of the author, the year of publication, the number(s) of the page(s) (if required) are indicated in the format [Pokrovsky, 1984. P. 53]. If the work has two authors, both are indicated [Koryakova, Panteleeva, 2019]. If the work has three or more authors, only the first author is indicated and "et al." added [Derevianko et al., 2017, pp. 54–62].
At the end of the article, there is a list of references in alphabetical order without numbering. The bibliographic description of the publication includes: the surnames and initials of the authors (all, regardless of their number) in bold, the full title of the work, the name of the editor, the name of the publication in which it was published (for articles), the city, the name of the publishing house or publishing organization, the year of publication, volume (for a multivolume edition), number, issue (for periodicals), volume of publication (number of pages - for a monograph, first and last pages - for an article).

Requirements for illustrations, tables, diagrams, maps
All additional materials (illustrations, tables, etc.) are sent to the editorial office together with the article in separate files.
Electronic versions of figures should be in JPG, PNG, TIF formats. Submission of source images, as well as original data tables, when creating charts in WinWord and Excel is encouraged. Drawings in color or in grayscale, as well as photographs must have a physical resolution of 300 dpi, line drawings - not less than 600 dpi (set during scanning or when shooting, the size of photographs and drawings must be at least as expected in the magazine). On pictures scanned from reproductions in books and magazines, the raster point must be removed. References to figures in the text are formatted as follows: (Fig. 1) - to refer to one figure, (Fig. 4–6) - to several sequential figures, (Fig. 3, 5) - to a specific position in the assembled figure. It is forbidden to place signatures in the drawing file.
Maps scanned from pages of cartographic publications are not accepted. The scale should be indicated on the maps and plans, and the direction to the north on the plans.
Tables should be presented in WinWord format with a width of no more than 270 mm, without breaks when moving from one page to another. The name and number of the table is indicated at the top.
The editorial office must provide documents confirming that the rights of the publications from which the scan was performed are not violated, or the consent of the author of the first publication, curator of the collection, etc.
